Slow stories, play, childhood, beauty and daily poetry.

My name is Matilde Portalés Raga. I am a book Illustrator and Art Educator living in Valencia (Spain). Since I was a child, I love Art, books, music, dance, stars, swimming… and being surrounded by green Nature.

In 2000, I illustrated ‘Versos al sol’, my first book of poetry for children. From that time onwards, I have been commissioned several editorial projects for Spanish and international publishing Houses: Tramuntana, Somnins, Lito, Baula, Edelvives, Anaya, Tandem, Bromera, Imaginarium, Bullent, Unicef…

Silence, quiet moments, plants, water and blank pages are essential for me.

Its sheer simplicity allows me to breath in calm and, above all, to create stories.

I love observing and sensing the natural handfeel of life with a slow tempo.
