Slow stories, play, childhood, beauty and daily poetry.
My name is Matilde Portalés Raga. I am a book Illustrator and Art Educator living in Valencia (Spain). Since I was a child, I love Art, books, music, dance, stars, swimming… and being surrounded by green Nature.
In 2000, I illustrated ‘Versos al sol’, my first book of poetry for children. From that time onwards, I have been commissioned several editorial projects for Spanish and international publishing Houses: Tramuntana, Somnins, Lito, Baula, Edelvives, Anaya, Tandem, Bromera, Imaginarium, Bullent, Unicef… (LINKS)
Reasons to be slow…
Silence, quiet moments, plants, water and blank pages are essential for me.
Its sheer simplicity allows me to breath in calm and, above all, to create stories.
I love observing and sensing the natural handfeel of life with a slow tempo.
